Debit Card Dashboard

One of my clients decided to get partnered with Visa debit card, which they wanted to use to validate the banking concept and start iterating on it with customers. Thus, they quickly expanded to thousands of card users especially in Europe.

Its cardholders can transfer money between accounts without bank fees and at a favorable rate. They can also store, spend and send money to whoever they want. The Wallet claims that its customers can easily keep track of your spending and export transaction statements whenever they need.

Competitors & Market Research

  • For this, I examined banking apps and fintech startups broadly used on the market.

    1. How the different applications allow users to manage their cards

    2. What steps are needed in case of stolen/lost card or forgotten PIN

    3. Which informations are needed to be shown on card overview.

  • • Half of the competitors have an option to see the card details in-app

    • 3 out of 7 allow you to freeze and block the card on the app

    • To retrieve the PIN most of them has an additional level of security

    • Retrieving the PIN often requires waiting and it cannot be done instantly

  • • Simple and pain-free onboarding for the user will drive engagement.

    • Ease of use is the primary focus for the card management.

    • Facing problems, users expect clear and quick actions.

    • Too many security steps can create a bad experience.

Persona

User personas help to establish empathy with target users and ensure that future design decisions would be based on real data from real users. I created this persona “Jane” representing the insights gathered from all the research from the wide range of different types of users.

User Flow

Clickable Prototype

After creating the user flow, I designed a high-fidelity prototype of the card onboarding as well as a detailed report of our research insights and findings. A simple and clear presentation outlined all my processes and results.

Card dashboard

After trying out popular wallet apps on the market, I noticed the overview/dashboard is a certain challenge. There seems to be an intense area as to the amount of information that should be available at a glance. I concluded that the app’s overview/dashboard should show all the necessary information like transaction details as well as card and security options.

Card order & activation

While ordering the card I aimed to promise a smooth flow for users. To reduce clicks/load time and keep data visible, I planned to simplify the process down to basic screens by reducing the screens.

Conclusion

The goal of this project is to design the user interface to manage debit card and make smooth transactions. The goal is also to enhance the overall experience of the user by improving the consistency of the design. All UI/UX designs in this project were designed so that the user, with a quick glance, can always see all the necessary information about card.
